Summary.

More than three years after allegations of Harvey Weinstein’s decades of sexual abuse surfaced, the #MeToo movement continues to reverberate around the world. Accusations have been leveled against politicians, business leaders, and influential individuals from a variety of industries, and we’ve seen meaningful progress in both policy and action as a result.

Hong Luo is the James Dinan and Elizabeth Miller Associate Professor of Business Administration, Harvard Business School. Her research aims to understand the strategies of firms that face high risk and uncertainty of selecting, developing, and monetizing their innovative ideas and intellectual property. An integral part of her work concerns the impact of legal regimes, public policies, and social forces — such as intellectual property regimes, product liability systems, and social movements — on firms’ innovation activities and, consequently, the opportunities and barriers faced by talent. Laurina Zhang is an Assistant Professor in Strategy & Innovation at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. She is interested in the organizational and policy levers that affect innovation and inequality. Her work has examined how technology and information can affect innovative, entrepreneurial, and creative outcomes through democratization of access and participation for disadvantaged subgroups.
